"Open for: Breakfast through dinner Price range: $$$ In a kiosk adjacent to the Royal Hawaiian Center, Island Vintage serves some of the best shave ice on the island, with servers dousing cups in pulpy syrups made of real fruit. Not far away, Island Vintage Wine Bar is a sit-down restaurant with an extensive menu ranging from breakfast all day to burrata and charcuterie to garlic shrimp. It’s one of the few restaurants where you can get ‘ulu (breadfruit)—here, it’s fried like breakfast potatoes and served with brown sugar and coconut cream. Some of our other favorites are the steamed clams, and you can also order acai bowls from the adjacent Island Vintage cafe. The wine selection and expertise isn’t what it used to be, but it’s still a good place to eat.  Know before you go: The Island Vintage cafe next door always has lines, while the wine bar is less crowded, but you can order the entire cafe menu at the wine bar." - Martha Cheng
