"Situated on Santa Monica Boulevard between San Vicente and Robertson, the San Francisco-based Hi Tops has opened West Hollywood’s newest LGBTQ-friendly sports bar after co-owners Jesse Woodward and Dana Gleim took over the 2,700-square-foot Bar 10 space and closely recreated the original Bay Area location. They're introducing new items alongside the SF favorites, describing the menu as “gourmet stadium food,” with offerings such as cauliflower on a stick, a pork chop on a stick, grain bowls, nachos, burgers and sandwiches. The drink program follows the SF practice of naming cocktails after Bay Area athletes—the Left Arm of God is named after Dodger pitching legend Sandy Koufax, and cocktails like The Magic Hour or The Claw should resonate with Angelenos—and, as Woodward says, the menu has something for everyone, made with fresh juices, purees, and cordials, with nothing bottled or stale. The massive patio is ideal for people-watching on the pedestrian-heavy stretch of Santa Monica Boulevard, and Hi Tops opens tonight at 6 p.m.; regular hours are Monday–Friday 4 p.m.–2 a.m. and weekends 10 a.m.–2 a.m.; Bar 10 is expected to eventually reopen downtown in collaboration with club promoter Andres Rigal." - Mona Holmes
