"Quietly opening a second location in East Nashville, the local hot chicken favorite Slow Burn has brought its hot chicken burritos, omelettes, and more to the former Ruby Ann’s space — previously fans had to head to Madison for their fix. Heat levels range from “sprinkle” to “purgatory,” and for the very brave there’s even an off-menu “elephant repellant.” Beyond basic hot chicken and fish, I note it’s known for a plethora of outside-the-box weekend breakfast options, including savory hot chicken–filled omelettes and breakfast burritos as well as sweet hot chicken donuts and apple fritters. The new restaurant at 726 McFerrin Ave., near Cleveland Park, is open Tuesday–Thursday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday/Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m." - Delia Jo Ramsey
