"At its new Hawthorne location, I heard co-owner Lauren Fontein say that the existing system has been challenging: the Artist Tree opened a second lounge and dispensary but originally shelved plans for an on-site restaurant because state law forced lounges serving food to split into separate businesses with separate ownership and transactions.
