"For over 45 years dining over the city with a one-of-a-kind 360-degree view has drawn visitors to this iconic 50-story structure, built in 1978 and affectionately known as “The Ball.” Rising 560 feet and conceived by Ray L. Hunt and John Scovell with inspiration from the area's early French settlement, La Reunion, the tower was part of a larger downtown redevelopment that included Union Station and later had its surrounding complex added in 1998. It was intended as a civic and communal landmark — a vision still underscored by its panoramic dining experience and status as the site that has hosted only two major restaurants in the tower’s history." - Amy Kelley
