"Sitting on the southeast side of the Golden Gate Bridge, the historic Round House Cafe was built in 1938 (one year after the bridge opened), is completely circular and Art Deco in style by Swedish architect Alfred Finnilia, and features large fish‑eye windows with sweeping views of the bridge and bay; long operated by the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy and recently serving tourist‑standard hot dogs and bread bowls, the 1,600‑square‑foot cafe will be renovated—new counter and pastry case, replacement of the bar and 24 tall seats, fresh paint, floors, and tiles—to switch to Equator’s local‑caliber espresso and an expanded menu of salads, soups, pastries, and more, with service expected as soon as the Labor Day weekend." - Becky Duffett
