"A family-run chain of Philadelphia delis founded by a Pakistani immigrant who reportedly arrived with just $3, this business is built around colorful local touches—most notably a gallon-sized reusable mug called the Mega Glug and shelves stocked with Philly staples like TastyKakes—but conceals a much darker underbelly. What appears to be an ordinary deli empire actually served as a front for a sophisticated cocaine-smuggling operation, including the ingenious tactic of hiding kilos inside pungent jars of achaar to confuse drug-sniffing dogs.
