"Opening June 7, the Kendall Square Blue Bottle Coffee at 88 Ames St., inside the Proto apartment building, is California’s chain’s fourth Boston-area outpost. The designers drew inspiration from MIT’s Baker House dormitory by Alvar Aalto, and the cafe features standing tables designed by Aalto along with plenty of natural light and light wood. In addition to coffee, customers will find snacks like waffles, avocado toast, yogurt parfaits, and pastries from A&J King in Salem. The new location is open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends, and sits practically across the street from the existing cafe Vester." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal
