"As the flagship overseen by James Beard Rising Star AJ Voytko in the new downtown hotel's dining lineup, I found Terrane Italian Kitchen + Bar offers Italian-twisted breakfasts (porchetta and broccoli rabe hash; polenta pancakes topped with amaretti crumbles; eggs baked in marinara finished with grana padano), economical pasta lunches (full orders $15, half-orders $8) including pappardelle with “mama’s ragu,” beet fettuccini with goat cheese and arugula, and a garganelli with carbonara prosciutto and peas, plus seconds such as a chicken leg with polenta and wild mushrooms and a hanger steak with parmesan gratin. For dinner it leans into trattoria fare—arancini and prawn scampi—adds two after-lunch pastas (a cannelloni with fennel sausage and ricotta and a rabbit agnolotti with radish and scallion pesto), and from the open-kitchen grill offers mains like swordfish with garlic, capers, and lemon and a porchetta." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden
