"Opened on Thursday, December 20 in a storied North End space at 33 North Sq., I note that Forcella takes over the former Carmen, which closed in 2016 after 16 years; the Carmen team meanwhile is on the verge of opening La Cucina at Somerville’s Assembly Row. The menu follows a familiar Italian structure—primi, secondi, pasta, and contorni—with starters like a poached lobster bisque, seared beef carpaccio, and meatballs; pastas include linguine with clam sauce, gnocchi with braised rabbit, and black pepper spaghetti with guanciale. Forcella also serves a daily risotto, a salmon entrée, and a porcini-rubbed pork with roasted sweet potatoes, and offers wines by the glass or bottle, three beer options, and a handful of soft drinks. Dinner service runs 5 to 11 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 5 to 10 p.m. on Sunday; it is closed Monday." - Dana Hatic
