"Slated to open early next year at 2363 Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard (between West 138th and 139th Streets), the new full-service cafe from the Burnettes grew out of their pop-up experiments and is designed for the grab-and-go breakfast and lunch crowd. It will specialize in freshly made bagels—blueberry, sea salt, and caramelized onion among them—served primarily as sandwiches, including riffs like smoked salmon with scallion cream cheese and a pheasant fig pistachio terrine topped with a poached egg; many sandwiches will be served panini-style for the “perfect amount of crispy and crunchy,” says Melissa. The menu will also feature a made-to-order egg soufflé with roasted green beans and potatoes, French omelets, and pastries such as spinach-and-feta croissants and cinnamon rolls. Ink will operate as a pop-up from Belle until the next-door space is ready, eventually sharing an outdoor seating area with Belle that the couple envisions as a sidewalk hangout with wifi." - Tanay Warerkar
