Korean-Mexican Restaurant Empire Chi’lantro Opens in Mueller | Eater Austin

"Set to open on Monday, September 17, the Mueller Chi’lantro at 1201 Barbara Jordan Boulevard is the Korean-Mexican mini-chain’s seventh location; much like its other restaurants it will serve the lauded kimchi fries, Korean fried chicken wings, burgers, tacos, and customizable rice, noodle, and salad bowls. The Mueller Chi’lantro will be open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and as an opening special will offer 20 percent off all meals from Monday, September 17 through Sunday, September 23 only at the Barbara Jordan Boulevard restaurant. Founder and owner Jae Kim — who began Chi’lantro in 2010 as a food truck and, after appearing on Shark Tank in 2016, won investment money — is already planning new locations and aims to expand into Houston and Dallas; Chi’lantro also operates four other brick-and-mortars across Austin and two permanent food trucks on Congress Avenue and East 6th Street (the latter having taken over Via 313’s spot at Violet Crown Social Club)." - Nadia Chaudhury
