"Opened this week in Woodbridge nearly two months past its original timeline, BASH Original Izakaya occupies the space briefly held by Izakaya Katsu and is operated by Harold Kim of Canton’s Izakaya Sanpei and his partners, who aim to develop Bash into a small chain of four to five izakayas. The team retained much of the prior tatami-style seating and lanterns but invested heavily in improving the old kitchen—adding a fryer the previous tenant lacked—moved the entrance from a rear alley to the front on Trumbull Avenue, and added temporary signage. I’m told the menu will feature an extensive Japanese snack-style selection, sashimi, and a variety of Japanese craft beers, with plans to add a patio and biergarten in the spring; current hours are 5 p.m.–11 p.m. Tuesday, 5 p.m.–midnight Wednesday through Saturday, and 5 p.m.–11 p.m. Sunday (closed Mondays)." - Brenna Houck
