"Opening by early December on Garnet Avenue in Pacific Beach, Powerhaus Pizza will occupy a thoroughly remodeled 1,200-square-foot former Papa John’s space with a beach-y, California feel. Owner Anisha Blodgett, a wellness enthusiast with a well-fed Instagram account who recently traded coasts from New York City where she was a real estate analyst, created the eatery to bring a healthier focus to the fast-casual, customizable pizza model. The menu centers on 10-inch pizzas with crust options that include a traditional yet gluten-free version, a cauliflower crust, and a dough enhanced with plant-based protein, plus a range of vegetable toppings, vegan cheese, grass-fed dairy and natural meats. Beyond build-your-own pies there are eight signature pizzas, including a barbecue chicken pizza with chicken, fresh pineapple, corn, red onion, and part-skim grass-fed mozzarella (also available with vegan chicken and cheese) and a Mediterranean pizza made with organic tomato sauce, kalamata olives, artichokes, roasted red peppers, red onions, spinach, feta, and part-skim grass-fed mozzarella.
