"Reimagined from the former Ye Olde Waffle Shoppe at 173 East Franklin Street, the 1,400-square-foot space has been transformed into an intimate Spanish tapas lounge with exposed brick and sleek booths seating only 40 guests, designed by Elizabeth Sharp. Billed as Chapel Hill’s first Spanish tapas restaurant and opened by the team behind French bistro Bluebird and Hawthorne & Wood, managing partner Brandon Sharp says, "We’re thrilled to bring our brand of genuine hospitality and delicious food, expressed through the Spanish tapas tradition, to downtown Chapel Hill." The menu features Spanish classics like boquerones, patatas bravas, costillas, gambas in salsa verde, and tuna escabeche, and Director of Operations Neal Benefield curated a beverage list of Spanish wines, wine-based cocktails, sherries, vermouths, ports, beers, and ciders; hours are daily from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m." - Erin Perkins
