"A Heights-based cafe and roastery, Tenfold Coffee Company will open its second and largest location this fall as a 5,000-square-foot wholesale roastery at 3302 Garrow Street in the Plant; you won’t be able to sip a latte there yet because it will serve as a wholesale production base to scale cold brew and other offerings that currently supply more than 30 local businesses. After stints in Costa Rica, Seattle and Australia, co-founder Jacob Ibarra launched Tenfold in June 2020 with Euseng Teo and has used the Heights all-in-one roastery, cafe, and lab to run weekend classes and tastings that make specialty coffee approachable. Moving wholesale operations to the Plant will free up room in the Heights space for more seating, and Ibarra plans to keep the Second Ward site accessible through a neighborhood subscription pick-up service, an on-site tasting room and tours, participation in the Plant’s market every second Saturday, and classes in both English and Spanish; he also wants to engage the area’s large Hispanic community and its coffee history (Second Ward was formerly home to Maxwell House) and sees a retail presence in the Plant as a long-term goal after getting to know the neighborhood." - Brittany Britto Garley
