"An Eagle Rock–based food truck started by co-owners Jeff and Landy Angeli brings the flavors of the Yucatán to Los Angeles, focusing on gringas — simply marinated, spit-roasted meats layered with melted cheese on a flour tortilla, similar to mulitas. Using Landy’s family recipes from summers in Mérida, the menu highlights pork, chicken, and beef cooked on separate spits; the truck was expected to be fully operational by June. This is the couple’s first food business in L.A.: Jeff contributes fine-dining experience from time in Chicago, while Landy — a longtime dog trainer and rescuer — plans to give treats to four-legged visitors. With deep roots in Eagle Rock and Highland Park, they embrace a minimalist approach (“make good food, treat folks well”) and hope to grow the truck into a nearby brick-and-mortar in the future." - Mona Holmes
