"Owners Leilani Terris and James Lewis, who met working in a bakery, opened Lei’d Cookies after debuting the brand a year before the pandemic and have moved into the former Coolhaus shop in Culver City, where the space feels familiar to locals but with more color, plants, counter seating by floor-to-ceiling front windows, and an industrial baking area. They stock products from fellow Smorgasburg vendors — Be Bright Coffee and Rickki’s Wikkies candles near the entry and ice cream from Sad Girl Creamery and Kinrose Creamery — and feature a western-facing map that illustrates the global flavors inspiring their cookies. The menu ranges from traditional chocolate chip to internationally inspired items like mango sticky rice, guava goat cheese, a Mayan-inspired cookie with dark chocolate, cinnamon, and cayenne that packs heat, a gelatinous coconut take on Filipino buko pandan sapin sapin, and a cookie that encapsulates s’mores. Lei’d will remain at Smorgasburg on Sundays and credits the weekly market with helping them grow; current hours at their Culver City location are Wed–Fri 3 p.m.–10 p.m., Sat 11 a.m.–10 p.m., and Sun 5 p.m.–9 p.m." - Mona Holmes
