"Chef Nora Haron has a new home in San Francisco at Local Kitchen, the 10-year-old SoMa restaurant from owner Jeff Handy located at 330 1st Street; there she will reprise dishes fans missed since she left Drip Line last summer—items like chicken satay skewers, lamb meatballs, Singaporean chicken rice, and za’aar roti. She’ll also return to baking on Local Kitchen’s wood-fired oven, making sourdough pizzas with toppings that range from Italian to Indonesian, including a beef rendang pie with braised brisket, mozzarella, roasted pineapple, and micro basil, and down the line customers can expect more baked goods like kaya toast and pandan cake. As diners might expect from Local Kitchen, there’s plenty of domestic and Old World wine to pair with dinner, and the bar prescribes cocktails such as the What You Need (Rum Haven coconut rum, pineapple juice, and lime) or the more drastic Brexit (Ballantine’s blended scotch, Laphroaig, sweet vermouth, and yellow Chartreuse)." - Caleb Pershan
