Barrow’s Catfish Opens - Eater New Orleans

"Nearly 13 years since Hurricane Katrina, Barrow's Catfish announced Wednesday that it will swing open this Friday, July 6, at 10 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting followed by regular service at 11 a.m. The restaurant, originally called Barrow's Shady Inn, opened in 1943 and made a name for itself with its fried catfish (fried catfish was the only entree and potato salad was the only side at the original location) and the new name, Barrow's Catfish, celebrates that. Though catfish is still king on the menu, the new eatery will also serve fried shrimp, crawfish bread, gumbo, and more." - Stephanie Carter
