"Opening on October 15, Two Hands launched its first restaurant outside New York City in the Music Lane development on South Congress and is now open for dine-in, takeout, and third-party delivery at 1011 South Congress Avenue. I noted that Two Hands leans into Australia's cafe culture with coffee drinks (including a beet latte), açai bowls, toasts, salads, and sandwiches, and—like its New York location—serves dinner along with wine, beer, and cocktails; entrees include spiced squid noodle salad and schnitzel, plus Austin-specific items such as a pulled lamb carnitas torta and avocado toast with pickled prickly pear cactus. Chef Barney Hannagan, who grew up in the Australian outback and developed an appreciation for native foraging and campfire cooking, previously worked at the Portland location of Melbourne-based Proud Mary's. To limit COVID-19 spread the restaurant requires masks for guests and staff, has added sanitizer stations, uses QR-code menus, won't accept cash, offers patio seating and will open its dining room at 50 percent capacity with six feet between tables per state orders, and will offer delivery via Grubhub, DoorDash, and Uber Eats; hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily." - Erin Russell
