"A longtime brunch and breakfast staple that opened in 2004 in Westside Provisions and operated for 20 years announced it will close on December 29. Owners Jennifer and Ben Johnson wrote, "Our hearts are breaking, but it is time." They cited a shift to online and third-party delivery—"We have seen an evergrowing percentage of our business move to online and third-party delivery services,"—noting "Sales are down; costs are up. The economics of restaurants have changed, with weekday breakfast and lunch being hit the hardest. So, despite a year of thought and effort, we simply do not see a viable path forward for the restaurant in this location." The spot is lauded for its shrimp and grits (which won awards at the Jekyll Island Shrimp and Grits Festival), stacks of sour cream pancakes, and chicken and waffles; a mural of the mascot pig dressed in a shirt and pants, holding a coffee mug and pointing to the restaurant long adorned the Westside Provisions walls. It operates under the Rye Restaurant Group, which also owns the General Muir (Sandy Springs location now closed), TGM Bread, Yalla, Fred's Meat and Bread, and Wood's Chapel BBQ." - Henna Bakshi
