Junebug Promises Late-Night Food in Downtown New Orleans | Eater New Orleans

"Set to open at 748 Camp Street in the Warehouse District, Junebug promises to fill a pandemic-era void by offering serious late-night food, with plans to serve a full menu and nightly specials past midnight. Shannon Bingham will lead the kitchen and has crafted an ambitious, sophisticated bar-food menu with Southern and French inflections that ranges from French bistro-style plates — blue crab gratin with pan con tomate, foie gras mousse with banana bread, and confit beef cheeks — to playful riffs like croquettes monsieur with honey mustard and a pâté melt with country pâté, gruyère, and griddled onions on rye. Southern touches include pickled shrimp dip with fried saltines, beer-battered drum with sauce gribiche, pecan pimento cheese, spicy cheese straws, burrata with smoked carrot marmalade, endive salad, raw oysters with satsuma mignonette, and a few familiar bar items such as a described “killer” burger and fried chicken sandwich. Sophie Burton is bar director and Junebug will specialize in eau de vie — both mixed into cocktails and presented on their own — with house cocktails offered in full-strength or “refreshing” formats (for example, the full-strength Why Worry with Toki, pear eau de vie, chamomile tincture, and lemon oil versus the refreshing Double Loop that adds salted lemon soda).
