"Slated to open in June at the corner of Woodward Avenue and East Grand Boulevard in New Center, this affordable, all-day restaurant and bar aims to be family-friendly and casual. Co-owned by Lucy Peters with chefs Sopheana Duch and brothers Max and Eli Sussman, the team is converting a former pharmacy and beauty parlor into a roughly 60-seat space (50 in the dining room and 10 at the bar). The menu will focus on approachable sandwiches, salads, soups and bar items like wings; service will be full but relaxed, with customers marking paper menus that servers collect to allow staff to cover larger sections while the partners prioritize providing living wages. The interior draws on the co-owner’s great-grandmother’s Michigan farmhouse—using early 20th-century wallpaper motifs and Depression-era schoolteacher touches—to create a warm, home-like atmosphere. The project experienced an ownership change during development, and the team plans pop-up events at Frame in Hazel Park in March ahead of the late-spring debut." - Brenna Houck
