"California Pizza Kitchen, known for its fusiony pizza combinations like BBQ Chicken pizza and Thai chicken pies and an equally varied non-pizza menu, is closing its 12-year-old Midtown branch. The lease is up for the highly visible corner space and rising costs are forcing the closure. Though the chain is prolific, few outposts exist in the five boroughs.
