"In Griffintown, Mauvais Garçons was burglarized in the early hours of Feb. 12—thieves smashed a window (photos showed shattered glass and the brick used), stole a cash register and an iPad, and caused roughly $3,000 in damages; owner Robert Goldberg said the theft occurred about 30 minutes after staff left (they had stayed late preparing a large Valentine’s Day order for Les Weekendeurs), the culprits fled before police arrived, and the timing meant essentially all the money made on Valentine’s Day would go to repairs, though some income at least covered damages. Goldberg blamed the curfew for leaving streets empty, tried to keep a positive outlook, and even kept the rock that broke the window as a decoration he named “Dwayne Johnson.”" - Valerie Silva
