Inside Her Diner, D.C.’s New Neon-Hued Spot for Crushes and Comfort Food - Eater DC

"Her Diner is an inclusive neighborhood space that features everything from comfort food favorites to Bravo-viewing parties and lively weekend brunches flowing with bubbly beverages. The restaurant is the brainchild of Kelly Laczko, who makes her debut as an owner and operator after spending 10 years as general manager for the space’s previous occupant, Duplex Diner. Her Diner’s story picks up where Duplex Diner’s left off after it abruptly closed in June. Laczko hired back a majority of the old team, the chef included. The opening menu balances nostalgia with fresh items and ideas, including breakfast-for-dinner dishes like French toast or a breakfast burrito and the return of milkshakes. Laczko offers gratis pickles from local business Gordy’s Pickle Jar. Behind the bar, Her Diner shakes up fruit-forward crushes and twists on classics like a dill pickle brine martini, Hugo spritz, and fig vodka mule. The motif is 'lighter and brighter' with pops of neon colors, updated TVs and audio equipment. The bathrooms feature themes dedicated to Madonna and Beyonce. Her Diner will be open for dinner daily and weekend brunch, with weekly specials and happy hour deals planned." - Travis Mitchell
