Bluestone Lane Venice Beach Café

Australian restaurant · Venice

"It’s a quick flip for the former Cerveteca space on Rose Avenue in Venice, as a prominent new name has already been attached to the building: Bluestone Lane. For those unfamiliar, Bluestone Lane is a casual chain of mostly coffee shops and cafes with a decidedly Australian vibe. The company currently enjoys a number of locations along the East Coast, and has jumped into Los Angeles in the past year with gusto. They’ve got plenty of competition out this way though, as the Australian dining scene has taken off of late, from places like Great White nearby in Venice to Santa Monica’s Little Ruby and even Echo Park hideaway Pollen up in the hills. This time around, Bluestone Lane is looking to do things a little different with their Venice location. The laid-back seaside community feels a good bit like Australia’s Bondi Beach, says ownership, and the all-day restaurants with coffee, food, beer, wine, and dinner fit right in with the community. That’s the plan with this Venice location, to move beyond daytime hours and lattes into a more meaningful restaurant with a beer and wine license and evening charm. As for a turnaround time, expect something by early summer." - Farley Elliott
