"After arriving in California in the 1850s, the Korbel brothers dabbled in timber, transportation, and sundry agricultural pursuits before planting the grapes that would become their namesake wine — a brut that has been coined as “California Champagne” for over 135 years. Take a free guided tour of the winery’s historic cellars and museum, or wander among its lush gardens, which boast over 150 varieties of roses. Then sample some bubbly and pick out your picnic. The onsite deli and market offers traditional picnic fare, including handcrafted sandwiches, fresh salads, cheeses, and homemade desserts.
