"A longtime favorite of local journalists and downtown workers that closed under pandemic pressure in December 2020 has been reborn under new ownership, with SFGATE reporting the iconic cheap, juicy burger remains on the menu. The new owner, Tod Alsman — the San Francisco–raised mainstay behind Old Ship Saloon and R Bar — sought to retain the nostalgic feeling regulars expected: the ambiance and look are “almost the same,” with huge TVs streaming sports amid the din.
