Incoming Recreation Cafe Offers Art and Wine for Changing Mid-City | Eater LA

"Set to open along Washington Boulevard this summer, Recreation Cafe seeks to merge art, food, and community in a casual all-day dining space. Actor Nick Spano, a longtime Mid-City resident, has been trying to realize Recreation’s cafe side since roughly 2015; the property currently functions as a multi-functional community arts space (Re/Creation) offering painting, live music and dance, and public meetings. The plan is to expand that vibe into a restaurant doing breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily: mornings will feature coffee, pastries, and juices; lunch will offer healthy salads and sandwiches; evenings will have a mellow vibe with beer and wine, and live music and curated cultural nights would continue. If all goes well, the cafe could be up and running by sometime this summer with hours from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily." - Farley Elliott
