"After a two-year wait, I visited the new Downtown Disney outpost of Din Tai Fung, which opened for reservations on June 24 with a full opening scheduled for July 1. The 7,500-square-foot restaurant, designed by Rockwell Group and inspired by traditional Chinese pavilions, offers a spacious interior and a climate-controlled patio; an expo kitchen opens into the dining room so I could watch dumplings being made. The menu follows the familiar Taiwanese and Shanghainese lineup of noodles and dumplings found at other Los Angeles locations, and the opening coincided with a new line of merch; cocktails are available now with expanded beer and wine offerings coming in July. Reservations are available through Yelp." - Rebecca Roland
