"A Tokyo-based yakitori chain’s first U.S. outpost is located inside the Arlington Heights Japanese marketplace at 100 E. Algonquin Road. The menu centers on chicken, including traditional yakitori-style skewers (prepared with gas rather than the customary charcoal) and karaage don rice bowls topped with Japanese fried chicken, shredded cabbage, pickles, red pepper, and a selection of sauces. Skewers are sold via counter service along the wall opposite the supermarket checkout kiosks, where diners pay before seating themselves in the food court. Beverage offerings include Ramune, tea, and coffee, and the parent chain operates more than 70 locations across Japan. Open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m." - Naomi Waxman
