"Returning next month from Thursday, August 21 through Labor Day, September 1, the fair will introduce 33 new items and eight new vendors, joining upwards of 300 official vendors serving more than 1,600 items this year. There isn’t a single unifying theme: trends include a pickle boom, a plethora of fried options and many foods on a stick, plus culinary mashups such as loaded french fries piled with Somali beef suqaar and a quesadilla stuffed with tandoori chicken that reflects a Northern Indian–Mexican crossover gaining popularity elsewhere.
