"NorCal in name but SoCal in origin, the LA-based Mendocino Farms is on a Bay Area expansion tear: in 2019 it brought a Palo Alto location for the chain’s sandwiches, salads, and “deli sides” at 167 Hamilton Avenue (the former LYFE Kitchen). The Palo Alto “Mendo” outpost is likely to bear the same clean, blue-and-white decor as its siblings; customers can expect popular items like Mendo’s “Not So Fried” Mary’s chicken and perhaps newer additions such as a taco salad with Impossible Foods faux-meat. The chain has been opening multiple Bay Area spots—San Francisco (which opened in August), with San Jose, San Mateo, San Ramon, and Sacramento locations also in the works—so stay tuned for more on Mendo’s serious local expansion plans." - Caleb Pershan
