"What began as an Instagram account during COVID quickly turned into an online bakery run by twin sisters Aria and Maya that launched accepting money in March 2021 and got a break less than three months later when HypeBeast (via Hypebae) discovered them. Their cookies are thin with crispy edges, chewy centers, and a brown-butter base, offered in playful flavors like Peanuts-n-Crackerjacks, Espresso Yourself, Champagne Poppy, OG brown butter with dark chocolate and sea salt, Raisin-the-Roof oatmeal, and BarryS’More (named for Drew Barrymore) — the latter especially prized when the charred marshmallows and chocolate are still gooey. They ship nationally (the cookies travel especially well) and New Yorkers can get fresh-out-of-the-oven delivery; early wholesale work — notably an ice cream-sandwich partnership — and social-media traction led to an IGTV chef series and national TV spots (including demos with Jake Smollett and Mario Lopez and appearances on the Today Show, Drew Barrymore, and Rachael Ray). The sisters attribute their confidence and craft to their father, Armsted Christian, and they’re expanding bicoastally with Maya running L.A. operations while continuing to refine recipes (Aria) and logistics (Maya)." - Charlotte Druckman
