Teote Outpost Opens Today at Pine Street Market - Eater Portland

"Latin American bar and restaurant Teote is opening its first restaurant on the west side, serving red chile pork belly and mini-burritos in Portland food hall Pine Street Market. Owner Michael Kennett says Teote Outpost, the new Pine Street Market arepa bar, will serve as a testing ground for the two other restaurants on the east side. The restaurant will have a number of proteins that will rotate frequently, available in flour tortillas or arepas — gluten-free tortillas are coming one things get settled. To start, the restaurant will offer its diablo — pork belly in red chile maple sauce — as well as shredded beef and smoky chicken. The meats will also be available in small, burrito-like wraps. Down the line, the restaurant will offer “traveler’s bowls,” aka greens cooked in chorizo broth topped with optional proteins. Teote will also have a full liquor license, offering two frozen drinks including a frozen mezcal margarita. The restaurant will also have a large selection of mezcal and a few draft cocktails. Teote hopes to fill a bar role at Pine Street as well, with bar stools at the restaurant’s colorful kiosk.
