"Opening on December 9, I see Grits n’ Gravy will start with just food and coffee and later, in 2022, add mimosas, beer cocktails, and bloody marys; located at 215 SW 6th Avenue, sixty percent of the menu comes from the Stagecoach family recipes, featuring Southern-fried catfish in cornmeal with eggs and buttered grits, bacon waffles, and biscuits and sausage gravy. Rather than a tight ten-item brunch menu, the restaurant harkens back to old-school breakfast halls with dozens of omelets and every permutation of eggs, meat, and potatoes—the Stagecoach menu reportedly has 35 omelets. Given its name, the focus is on grits and gravy: the spot always serves at least four types of gravy, from sausage to smothered onion, that top biscuits, rice, and sausage patties; grits can arrive buttered or fried with molasses, and there are two takes on shrimp-and-grits—a traditional version with fatback bacon and "hella cheese" and another with white wine, andouille sausage, and a Cajun cream sauce that Stevens serves at his food cart." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden
