"Concealed behind the floral decorations off Mijo’s tequila locker room, Wax Rabbit is a speakeasy accessed by pulling the correct rabbit-head door handle and designed as an intimate, sultry hideaway: its walls are draped in red velvet, a hand-tufted wool carpet depicts whimsical patterns inspired by the Mexican folklore El Centzon Tōtōchtin, and mirrors create an infinity effect centered on a rabbit emblem. Furnishings include red velvet banquettes, sofas, and ottomans, a transparent DJ booth showcasing stacks of vinyl, and a marble bar with shelves of specialty tequilas and obscure liquors lit by red-tinted glass shelving, soft lighting, and 66 hand-blown smoked glass pendant lights.
