"Situated in the former Alfie’s space on St-Sulpice Street, I find this speakeasy-like Old Montreal bar opened by the owners of Uniburger and Tommy Café to be a relatively casual spot for eating and drinking. Burgers are the main focus — a tight menu offers single and double-patty burgers plus a Beyond Meat vegetarian option, fries, and a daily dessert — with the patties slightly tweaked from their other restaurants but still embodying the essence of a simple, no-fuss hamburger. The bar side leans a bit fancier, emphasizing natural wines mostly from France and the Mediterranean, and is rounded out by a few burger-friendly cocktails such as a cherry cola spritz and the “Groot Beer” (bourbon, amaro, vanilla bitters, and root beer syrup) alongside a short beer list. It’s open at 404 St-Sulpice from 5 p.m. to midnight Thursday to Saturday." - Tim Forster
