"Ixta is a trendy, upscale, late-night Mexican restaurant and bar located inside the Avalon Bowery complex. The restaurant is owned by Mike Himani, who previously operated Ixta in Nomad from 2005 to 2007. The new iteration of Ixta features executive chef Francisco Blanco, who will offer a menu of southern Mexican and Oaxacan dishes. Mixologist Jenny Castillo will create tequila- and mezcal-based cocktails. The venue will have 165 seats, a 22-foot rectangular bar with 10 stools, and two televisions. The decor includes murals, handmade art, and Aztec touches, with a tropical wallpaper featuring monstera leaves and a tiger design. Ixta will operate from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. Monday through Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Thursday and Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday, and 11:30 a.m. to 12 a.m. on Sunday." - Caroline Shin
