"Rooster and Rice, a San Francisco-based fast food chain serving Thai-style chicken and rice, or khao mun gai, has set its sights on Texas with plans to open five locations in the DFW area in the next few years. The restaurant specializes in organic poached chicken served over fragrant jasmine rice, and garnished with cilantro, cucumber, chili, ginger, garlic and more, plus variations with brown rice, salad, or tofu. Founded in 2015, the company is now eyeing Dallas thanks to the metroplex’s growing Asian population and an increasing demand for quick-service Asian restaurants. No word yet on a debut date for the restaurant in Dallas, but stay tuned to Eater for future details." - Brittanie Shey
