Fat Kat Slim’s, a‘50s Style Diner, Set for Summer Opening on 8th Avenue - Eater Nashville
"Fat Kat Slim’s, a ‘50s style diner with a stocked jukebox, is coming to the former Pour House space at the corner of 8th Avenue South and Division Street this summer. The two-story restaurant and bar says they’ll have diner favorites, jukebox hits, and ‘50s themed decor. The upcoming diner comes from Paul Cercone and Christopher Weber of Earnest Bar & Hideaway (formerly Hemingway’s), alongside partner Manny Hatz. Fat Kat Slim’s will serve a “nostalgic comfort food” menu from chef Larry Carlile, also of Earnest Bar & Hideaway. The two-story restaurant and bar’s first floor will be sock hop-inspired, featuring a stocked jukebox. Upstairs is planned as a “celebration of Motown” while guests overlook the Gulch and downtown from the deck. Nostalgia will be a focus, and so will diners’ interaction with staff in character. Industry veteran and manager Bonnie Valentine will coordinate staff uniforms and decor for Fat Kat Slim’s, which is expected to open sometime this summer." - Delia Jo Ramsey
