Clarksville Diner Nau’s Enfield Is Open Again in West Austin - Eater Austin
"Clarksville institution Nau’s Enfield Drug brought back its popular restaurant this week after being closed for a year, much to the delight of West Austin residents and fans. The reopened diner and soda fountain shop is found on 1115 West Lynn Street within the pharmacy. Nau’s is only serving hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and milkshakes for now. Its initial hours are from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays. The menu will expand with other familiar and popular items like sandwiches, hot dogs, waffles, and breakfast tacos, at a later date. Hours will be extended later too. Nau’s owner Lauren Labay closed the diner in January 2019 because of staffing struggles and nearby restaurant competition. The pharmacy and the store remained open during that time. Nau’s opened in 1951 and was purchased by Labay’s father, Lambert Labay, in 1971. When he had a heart attack in 2016, Lauren took over the pharmacy and restaurant." - Nadia Chaudhury
