"Located at 161 Rutledge Avenue, this sleek new pintxo spot offers a menu of Spanish and Portuguese fare — I noticed lamb meatballs, grilled octupus, and marinated mussels among plates that range from a few bites to full entrees. The wine list is heavy with bottles from Spain and Portugal, and the restaurant also has a full bar. It's the work of chef Trae Wilson and restaurateur Joe Thomas; Wilson, who has been in the Charleston food and beverage world since the ’90s, told the Charleston City Paper that his travels in Spain inspired the menu. Wilson renovated the space himself, and I saw sleek lines at the bar, fun lighting fixtures, and lots of playful art; Laurel opened on Thursday, March 4, so not many people have seen the inside yet." - Erin Perkins
