"Pastry whiz Kimberly Bailey is opening the Butter End Cakery at 512 Wilshire Boulevard in Santa Monica at the end of June; she founded the business in 2010 and made a name crafting intricately decorated, sky-high cakes for a bevy of Hollywood clients and serving as a Food Network judge (Buddy vs. Duff 2 and Wedding Cake Championship). While best known for elaborate custom cakes, the bakery will also offer more approachable everyday sweets made using organic and locally sourced ingredients, including cakes by the slice, cupcakes, sweet and savory scones, sticky toffee pudding, chocolate bread pudding, butterscotch budino, brownies, and black-and-white cookies as an homage to her New York hometown, with sheet cakes and “every occasion” cakes decorated in Bailey’s award-winning style." - Cathy Chaplin
