"After a long wait since it was first promised, Cali Burgers will open Friday, June 7 in North Las Vegas, replacing a former 24-hour Tortas El Rey at the Fiesta Plaza retail center near the intersection of Civic Center Drive and Lake Mead Boulevard, and featuring hard-to-miss red-and-white signage. The drive-thru–only concept adds 670 square feet of shaded outdoor seating and will serve a yet-to-be-revealed menu described as Southern California-style, including sandwiches, “Cali wings,” asada fries and burgers prepared on soft, fresh brioche buns. Among the house specialties are “onion bombs,” made with fresh medium-size sweet onions that are hand-pressed, wedged, breaded and fried to perfection and served with signature dipping sauces, and the “Loaded Bomb,” which tops a pressed, fried onion with shredded cheese, guacamole, sour cream and a toriado jalapeño. The brand is still advertising a future expansion to Reno, and opening hours for the Las Vegas location will be announced soon." - Bradley Martin
