"I reported that Chicago Chefs raised more than $30,000 for Hurricane Helene relief at a fundraiser held on Sunday, October 6 at Chicago Qin Gold Coast, which chef Art Smith called a success. Smith, who is from Florida (which was in Helene’s path), has launched a second fundraiser as Hurricane Milton was forecast to hit Florida; to support that effort he’s organizing a carb-load event for runners and their supporters from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 12 on the second floor of Chicago Q. There’s a suggested $65 donation and all proceeds will go to World Central Kitchen’s hurricane relief efforts, and Smith says he’s lined up a celebrity chef to help but cannot reveal the name for security reasons." - Ashok Selvam
