"Frank Servedio, son of Clarke’s founders, has given the Clarke name a triumphant return with Clarke Café in Pointe‑St‑Charles at 2483 Centre; I note he intends it to be a local sandwich shop where he won’t have to overcharge for lunch and where everybody feels comfortable. He’s hoping to become the neighbourhood’s Italian coffee‑maker, offering Italian‑style coffee alongside similar Italian sandwiches to the old place — classic salami, turkey and calabrese — plus new items like grilled chicken and porchetta; some salads, including pasta salad, will also be served. While the new Clarke won’t be baking bread as the bakery did, it will still offer pastries such as cannolis and chocolatines. The space, a former hair salon a stone’s throw from Charlevoix metro, has had a full makeover with wooden countertops and white tiling to feel timeless rather than trendy, and it’s more of a sit‑down, coffee‑shop vibe. Clarke Café is open at 2483 Centre from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekends." - Tim Forster
