"At the decades-old Pike Place butcher shop, owner Don Kuzaro Jr. announced he’s putting the business up for sale as he retires after more than 50 years at Don & Joe’s Meats (35 as sole owner), saying his wife needs help with the grandkids. Long before artisanal butchers proliferated in Seattle, the friendly shop supplied the city with a wide variety of carefully sourced cuts — offering items like honeycomb tripe and duck fat as well as goose, quail, pheasant, and other game birds — and appealed to both tourists and locals, with noted restaurateurs such as Tom Douglas and Ethan Stowell counted among its regulars; Kuzaro is currently looking for a buyer." - Gabe Guarente
